One of those days

I am have one of those days where it feels like your head is in a bucket. I have more stuff to do than time it seems. I am currently at my “busy” time with work. We are planning our biggest conference of the year. It is March 23-27 in Galveston Texas. I am working on menus, audio visual, shipping, binder prep, floor plans, registrations….the list goes on. We are also trying to get our books ready for taxes, they have to be filed by March 15 for corporate….fun.
Then here at home I am still working on finishing the tile project; puttying the trim, then will need to paint the trim, paint the door (it has to be cut to fit over the tile), then I will need to clean both bathrooms.

Meanwhile, my house has not really been cleaned in 2 weeks. This is something that is really driving me crazy. I am amazed at how fast it gets dirty. And how much dust can collect. Where does it come from? So gross. So that has been added to my list of MUST do's for this weekend.

I am hoping that if I vent here a little I will feel better, so far not working. I really want/need to go shopping before I leave for the conference. I have gift certificates to spend! I also NEED to get a haircut and colored, and get my nails done. Seriously, where does the time go?

I get up at 5:10am everyday, workout, shower and dress, feed my husband and send him out the door by 6:45am. Finish getting myself dressed and made up, wake the kids, feed and dress them, get their teeth brushed, hair combed, lunch packed, back packs loaded and scurry them out the door by 7:45am. Drop off at school, home, get to work at about 8:15 (that consists of walking into my garage and into my office….), and work until it’s time to pick up the boy at 11am on Tues and Thurs or time for lunch on the other days. Then pick up the girl at 2:10, feed snack, say I love you and then back to work. Work till 5:30ish, then it’s time to make dinner, pick the house, feed dinner, clean up from dinner, do the dishes, baths for kids, read story, nighty night at 8pm. Finish cleaning up or doing whatever chore needs doing. Sit on couch at about 9pm, just as I get comfy Marshall announces he is going to bed….tuck him in and sometimes make it back to the couch just to fall asleep there……usually get up at 1:45am to crawl back to my bed. So really where does the time go?????

Aw I am feeling a little better now…..

Tile Project

This weekend we decided to do our last big project on the house. Tiling both bathroom floors.
Both rooms had linoleum flooring that was not our favorite….

Let me start by back tracking to September….we had decided to hire a company to do the tile; we were low on time and just wanted the job done. We found a company, picked our tile, grout and date to have the job done. Paid the deposit and everything. I get home from paying the deposit, check my email and what do you know, the sales lady had sent me an email asking if I wanted the toilets put back in after the job was completed…..jaw dropping….”No, leave them out, we have decided to go with the Chinese way of toileting…aim over the hole in the floor!”…..YES I want them put back in!!! Well then, they cannot do that, we have to hire a Plummer to put them back in. So you’re telling me you can take them out, but you cannot put them back in? Yes-that’s what they are telling me. It cost about $200 more to have a Plummer come out and set 2 toilets. Long story short….we got our deposit back and did not get the floors done in September!

We went and bought all the supplies on Friday. Then we got right to it on Saturday morning, laid the backer board, set the backer board, dry fit the tile to see where to start, cut tile, started laying the tile in the master bath…..
Sunday morning, got started laying the remaining tile in the master, Marshall started cutting and prepping the second bathroom, (no more toilets in the house) Continued to lay tile, set the backer board, laid tile in second bathroom…..
Monday……still no toilets. Finished laying tile in second bathroom, grout both floors.
Tuesday…..day 3 without toilets. Marshall got off early so we could set both Johns and be done. Realized we needed more wax to set toilets. Marshall goes to Home Depot. Realize we need longer hoses to attach water to the toilets; Marshall goes to Home Depot again. Finally get both toilets set and water hooked up to them, hold our breath with the first flush….no running water! We did it!!!
I must say I am beyond pleased with the outcome, and the fact that we saved $1700 doing it ourselves!!!

Awww how sweet!

Water and Wine

To my friend who enjoys a glass of wine… And those who don't.

As Ben Franklin said:

In wine there is wisdom,

In beer there is freedom,

In water there is bacteria.

In a number of carefully controlled trials,

Scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 liter of water each day,
At the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. Coli) - bacteria found in feces.

In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop.

However, we do NOT run that risk when Drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whisky or other liquor),
Because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.

Remember:

Water = Poop,

Wine = Health.

Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid,

Than to drink water and be full of shit.

There is no need to thank me for this valuable information: I'm doing it as a public service.

Freckle faces

My kids have been kissed by angels….their freckles are starting to come in! I love it!
I can remember as a kid when my freckles started to come in, my Uncle called them Angel Kisses. I think they have been called a few other things to, but I think I will stick with Angel kisses!
It’s hard to see them in the pictures, but I assure you they are there!

Valentine’s Day part 2

For breakfast I made eggs, hash browns and bacon! That’s right, bacon! It is the thickest bacon I have ever seen, so good, makes my heart stop!
We just had a chill day, went grocery shopping, got gas, and cleaned the house. We made homemade pizza for dinner and watched a movie. Marshall and I both fell asleep on the couch watching it! Lucy put Marshall to bed then came and woke me up so I could put her and Caymus to bed, what a good girl.
So this is what our 10th Love day together looks like. Very nice!

Valentine’s Day

We had parties in both kids’ classes on Friday. Fun stuff.
At 10am Caymus and I went to his class for his party. They had it very well planned; they split the kids up and moved them from room to room. First he played Bingo, and then it was off to hat making, and then make your own cookie. Off we went, but don’t forget your GIANT bag of Valentines! Oh my gosh! He had over 30 cards and candy!
We grabbed a quick bite to eat and then it was time to prep for Lucy’s party. We got the room set up and then it was party time!
We had punch and chex mix while they opened their Valentines. I have never seen anyone so excited to read their cards! It was awesome! They were all saying thank you to each other and oh there was so much love in that room!
Then we played musical hearts, make picture frames (see the picture below! So cute! My idea!), then they played another game and we loaded them up to head home.
What an exhausting day!!!
Oh but wait, it’s not over! After school we came home and took it easy for a few then off to pick up our Pork! YIPPY! We ended up with 156 lbs of meat! Not bad. It totally filled our freezer.
So guess what we had for dinner??? Pork Chops! And they were soooo good!

My Highschool Survey

V-Day Homework

The kids had homework!!! They both were sent home with a list of all the kids in their classes to make valentines day cards for. Both are having parties on Friday in their class. Caymus will be at 10-11am, then Lucy's is at 12:30-2pm. I am the room parent for Lucy's class which means I am doing the party planning! Yay me!

So I bought valentines cards when I went out yesterday, Power Rangers for the boys and Barbie Princess for the girls. I got them at the Dollar Store for a buck!! Each box has 32 cards, that's a great deal!

So we split up the cards and I gave them their instructions; write YOUR name in the from section. Then for Lucy, I had her write all the kids in her classes names on the cards also. Both kids did an amazing job. I thought for sure it would take them a few days to complete, no, I was wrong, they got them all done in a matter of hours! Nice work kids! They were so cute and excited to do it too. I really cant wait to go through all the cards they get back on Friday!

Chuck E Cheese!!!!

Its me and Chuck!!!

Where a kid can be a kid! And a 29 year old mother of 2 can sit and eat a hot meal and not have to clean up a thing!!!
On our way to the "suprise" location!

So my party was a Chuck E Cheeses, I guessed it! Where else can you have a birthday party with 11 kids? Not at our house! Marshall worked hard to plan a special day for me and he really did a great job. My dear friends were all there; even some I was surprise could make it. Thanks to those of you who drove the long venture from Mac! I really appreciate you making it.
The kids all had a blast, I enjoyed being able to have an adult conversation, eat a hot meal, and not having to clean up when we were all done!

The Finished Cake! So cute!

Its a PIG!!! I love it!

Look we match! RED heads look good in green....cute Ben, really cute!

After the party we came home, kids had baths and went to bed. Marshall and I got to watch a movie and enjoy our evening.
So far I am really loving my 29th year of life! I am surrounded by great people. I have dear friends young and old. I am healthy. I have a great job. Healthy and happy children. A supportive and loving husband. My dream home. I really can’t think of much more that I am missing!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today marks the end of my twenties…my 29th birthday….
I woke up to Caymus telling me was going to throw up and him running to the toilet…fortunately it was an isolated incident and he only did the deed once.
After that point it has been a great day. I have been bombarded with Happy Birthday messages and calls! Thanks to everyone!
My dear and sweet Husband has been planning a party for me, I told him I did not care what we do I just don’t want to plan it! Yeayyyyy so he has put it all together and I have no idea what it is. He made my birthday cake too! For any of you who know Marshall know that he does not cook, does not like to be dirty and has never baked before in his life. So for him to take this on is amazing! Shocking and so unbelievably sweet! He baked it last night and frosted this morning. He picked out decorations for it and everything. I am sooooo proud!
So this is part one of two for today. We will be leaving here in an hour for my “surprise” party. I can’t wait! I will fill you all in on what the surprise is….here are my guesses, Bowling, Chuck E Cheese or put-put golf…. Now I did guess all of those things and was told that’s not it, but we will see!

Pigskin round up! And I don’t mean Football!

Super bowl Sunday will forever be a day for us to remember…not because of the great game played by the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburg Steelers, but because of what we did before the game……..

As some of you may know, our friends have been raising pigs for meat for the last few months. The time has come for them to meet their maker!

The thought was that this was going to be an easy task, build a run or chute and open the fence and they will just run right on down it into the waiting trailer at the other end. HA HA HAHAAAAAA HAHAAAA

The pigs had a different idea. “Stupid humans, think they can get us in that trailer! Ha, let’s act like we are co-operating and then at the last second run them over in the mud/poo!”

Well that’s exactly what they did for about 2 hours!
We finally got smart, got a rope, herded one out at a time, grabbed it by the tail, roped its leg and drug it done the 50’ chute to the trailer! We had to do this with the first 3, and then finally the last 2 followed their leader to the trailer! Wow, what an adventure that was!!! We laughed so hard and are still laughing. That meat better be the best tasting pork ever!!! And I am sure it will be!

Justin and Marshall pulling the pig.....

Can you see Marshall laughing in this one???

Justin got hit in the head with the poo covered rope, by Marshall. OOPS! He even has a scratch!

I just had to add this picture. Cause its funny. And I like funny things.
