Just a little trip to Seaside

This weekend we packed up the car and headed to Seaside/Cannon Beach/ Gearhart/ Astoria for some good ol fashioned fun!!!

Bob's brother and kids are in town for a visit so that was a good excuse to head out. We totally lucked out with the weather, sunny blue skies the whole time!

Saturday we packed full! Including breakfast at the Pig n' Pancake, walked the beach in CB, Coffee at the Bald Eagle, bumper cars in Seaside, ice cream at Flashbacks, lunch at Pizza Harbor, hiked around Ft Stevens, played on the beach....

My little ones on the beach in CB. This beach is the reason I am in Oregon, fell in love with it at a young age and it called me back.

Goofy children with the captain.
Bob and his dad John waiting for all of us to decide what to do next....sorry guys this could take a while....

Caymus and Bob in the bumper cars....those Stockenberg boys are dangerous!

Lucy and Judy (Bobs mom) watching the big kids go on the tilt a whorl.
Bob, brother Ron, dad John and their big brother John behind the pole.

Enjoying their ice cream at Flashbacks.

Bob and I chilling in the car while the kids play on the beach.....it was so super windy!!!!

Sunday we all headed out to the Sunday market in Astoria, had some great lunch, browsed through the booths and said farewell to the family. We then headed to the beach one last time before going back home.

Caymus and Bob buried Lucy alive!

She loved it.
Isnt she cute!!!
Boys will be boys!!!

Welcome Summer

On the last day of school we had a little ice cream, tie-dye party here. All the kids had shirts that we dyed and oh man was that fun!!! They all turned out so cool! Cant wait to do it again.
Lucy then had a sleep over with her friend Tulah and they formed a rock band with Moose the next day. They are the "Rockin Tie-Dyes"!

My girl! She is looking so grown up! We braided her hair and this was the outcome. Beautiful! I cant believe she is going to be a 3rd grader in the fall!

The yard is taking shape! Here i have pumpkins, watermelon, sunflowers and a little corn growing in the far bed. Mint and little xmas tree in the near pots and a really cool piece of beach wood we found on our last trip to Seaside!

Lettuce, spinach and peas make up the near bed and tomatoes, peppers and onions make up the far one! They look great and are really taking off! We have been eating the salad daily!

Bob hooked me up with this cool trellis so I stuck it in my herb bed for some height, looks cool. Then we re worked the lawn and seeded again. Hope this time it works!
Bob and I got away last weekend for some beach therapy. Tried clamming again and didn't do well, only got a few, just enough for a taste and a hunger for those little buggers! But we did have a great time anyway!

My Sunday morning coffee, garden book and beach glass collection!
Awwwww bliss!

The front yard is taking shape also. We got 2 more pieces of drift wood for the front, I was in need of some hard-scape, looks great!

My baskets are awesome! Thanks Bob!! I love them!

Memorial Weekend

We had a wonderful adventure on Lummi Island for Memorial Weekend and my moms birthday.
It was north on I-5 for 6 hours, west on a ferry for 7 min and we were there!!!
Friday morning was very wet and we got soaked on our morning beach walk. But around 10am the clouds parted and the sun shown and it was a glorious day! Also my moms 55th birthday! We made sure to celebrate as hard as we could. A nice walk on the beach, fresh spot prawns for lunch, a walk though the fragrance garden and board walk, bbq/bon fire at my cousins, Reid made it up for a few hours.....and that's all just on Friday!

This pretty much sums up the entire weekend! This boy loves the beach.

Bob and I had a friendly little beach glass gathering competition. I smoked him, but he did good for a beginner!

My little mini me and I, just lost in our own little world.....

She likes to get down and dirty on the beach. She is so me!!!

Out bird watching at Tennant Lake.

Walking the board walk at Tennant Lake. Such a great day!

The kids turned the hot tub into their personal pool. Snorkeling and everything. They played out there for hours!!!

My Big Bear. My Rock. My support. By Friend. I love you till the end of days. ( and as I am typing this the song "I Loved her First" by Heartland just came on. I will always be your little girl.)

No trip to Lummi would be complete with out a little bb gun shooting!!!
This kept these boys entertained for many hours!

Lucy talked Grandma into pulling out her microscope, wow was that a cool idea! We looked at just about everything you can think of! I mean EVERYTHING!!!

Put a little shrimp on the barbie!!!!!

We found the "Honey Pot" when it came to beach glass!!!!

Lucy showing us what a tough little lady she is.

The crew!

Lighting the birthday cake....it took them about 5 minutes to light them all.....

And we made her put on sunscreen to blow them out! Happy Birthday Mama! I'll love you forever, I'll love you for always. So glad we got to celebrate with you!
