Mom, can we please do our homework outside? :-)

Awwwww the weekend......

Another fun filled weekend!
Friday we chilled, ate nachos, played games, started our Shrek movie marathon and just enjoyed each others company.

Saturday we were up before the sun, a norm around here it seems.....and not just because the days are shorter this time of year. We had a wrestling tournament to participate in!
This tournament is one I always enjoy. Its run well, there is good wrestling and the best part is they have all the teams line up on the mats for the National Anthem. I think that is a very cool and unique thing they do. It really showcases each team.

Cascade Wrestling Club - Lebanon, Oregon - January 22, 2011

The remainder of Saturday was spent just relaxing.....well sorta. The sun was shining when we got home so I took the opportunity to clean out the inside of my car. Very rewarding I must say!
We went for a walk down town to pick up some pizza and get our mail which had our netflix movie, Shrek 4.....

Anyway to sum up the rest of the weekend.....we watched the other 3 Shrek movies, ate a lot more food, played more games, cleaned the house and really had some good chill time.

Lucy playing/cleaning her room.

Caymus was trying to earn some money, so he vacuumed the entire house....even the furniture. He defiantly worked for his $1! I am all for teaching the kids about working for things, and it really helps me too. They seem to have a great sense of pride in knowing they are helping. I must be doing something right!

Playing games and rough housing.....

It was another great weekend. :-)

Oregon Classic

Last weekend was the Oregon Classic, the largest wrestling tournament in the state.....actually I think its one of the biggest in the country....but I may we wrong.....Any way its huge. 16 full mats, 3 days, all ages. Very cool.
They have a woman's tournament as part of the line up every year and we have been taking girls for several years now. As you can see Lucy got to go again this year. She did well and was up against some incredible young ladies.

This is not an easy sport for anyone, specially for a girl. She amazes me daily on her dedication and passion for the sport. Way to go Lucy!!!
