Let the craziness begin!

Caymus started playing Pop Warner Football...full contact. He LOVES it!!!! He has always enjoyed kicking and throwing the football around, and watching games live and on tv. And now he gets to play!
He started practice mid August and we are full steam ahead with 4 practices a week. Let the crazy begin!

My little stud!!!

Since Lucy and I are just sitting around for 2 hours at Moose's practices, I thought it would be a good idea for us to start running together to prep her for soccer. She is doing awesome and I think she is actually enjoying running. The first practice we made it 1 mile with several stops along the way.....by this last practice she ran 2 miles with only 3 short pauses! She is kicking butt!!! We have also done some sprinting and I hate to admit, she is fast and usually beats me....
I think she is ready for her first soccer practice tonight!

Lucy and Marlea post 2 mile run.

So tonight we have Football and soccer practice both starting at 5:30pm in 2 different locations......LET THE CRAZINESS BEGIN!!!!!

Corn Festival and Fun Run

Saturday was the Aumsville Corn Festival and Fun Run 5k. I participated in the run for my second year in a row. I was pleased to see more faces I knew and a larger crowed. The money raised from the run goes to one of the local elementary schools PTO. It was a nice hot morning and we ran on the HS X country course.
Last year I had been running longer runs and had a decent time of 26.57....Not to bad. So this year....well I havent really been running long distances and actually I think the last time I even ran that far was last years Fun Run. So I did not set my standards very high and was expecting a time of 34 min or so....I surprised my self with an unofficial time of 28.52. The best part of the run was having Lucy and Bob there to cheer me on! They were really cute and helped me stay focused!

And to my surprise I got 2nd place in my age division! SWEET!!

My cheerleader!!! She rocks and now wants to do the 3k next year!

The cheering squad. I love them!!!

After the run, we rushed back to town, grabbed some grub, changed and headed to our PTC float that was waiting in line for the parade.
We have been working on this for a few weeks now and were really proud of how it came out. Jill, our creative mind came up with the idea. Recycled milk jugs made into a corn cob!

Lucy and Tulah riding on the float.

One side view.
Bob was our Corn-Mobile driver....he did good and didn't even run over a single kid!!!

We won first place.....Our PTC rocks!!!!

Getting ready to take off!!!

All the riders of the float!! I wonder what we will come up with next year........

My Baby Turns 7!!!

Caymus turned 7 last Saturday.....I really can't believe it. I can still remember what it was like being pregnant with him....Everyday I am amazed by how much he has grown and the young man he is turning into.

He loves riding his new bike, making jumps and showing off his mad BMX skills.

He says he is allergic to cake and requested a brownie instead....so I took that to a new level and made a #7 brownie with LOTS of chocolate!
It was so good and so rich!!!

Bob hanging up the pinata.

Caymus beating it down....

And in for the score!!!!

The kids got some time to play in the creek that runs through our city park.

Sunday we headed out to Silverton and the Oregon Gardens.
There were things there for everyone....

Grandpa and his little Grands.

Awwwww me and my babies.....

The kids in the childrens garden and the Hobbit house.

Caymus loved the little train and mini garden.

Lucy found a little toy guitar and played us music the rest of the day...

Happy birthday little man! I love you more everyday!!!

Toby Keith and Eric Church with the Folks!

It was a fun filled Friday night for us! My parents drove south and we drove north....and we met up at the Sleep Country Amphitheater for a fun night of GREAT country music!!!

Bob and I got there a little early....so we tailgated and waited for B&G to arrive.

And once they did we tailgated a little more.....

Dad even wore his Toby Keith hat.....some guy walked by and thought he was Toby....that made his night.

We got Bob in a cowboy hat....ok it only lasted as long as tit took to take this pic, but he still did it!!!

Eric Church ROCKED the house!!!! He really puts on a great show!

Rouge Camping 2011

What sounds more fun than 8 kids, 7 adults, jet boat rides, and campfires? Not to much!!! We loaded up and treked down south for a few days of fun in the sun along the Rouge River.

Lucy, Moka and I waking up in the tent.

Moka was a happy boy! He is getting older and really having a harder time with being left behind....so I took him along....

All the kids with Paulette (Nana) and Bob (Pops)....Lucy, Jaci, Noah, Karsen, Brayden, Trevan, Caymus....Zoey is missing, not really missing, just from the picture. That would be bad if she was really missing....

Lucy doing her rock concert pose!
The kids set up spot lights (lanterns and flashlights) and did a rock show. Very cute.

Caymus' pose.

Lucy and I on the Jet Boat. We had great weather and saw some good wild life. Including a black bear, dear, a bald eagle couple, turtles, seals, otters and a few others....

Getting ready to get on the boat.

Campfire time!
The kids all got a ride on the fire truck through camp. Yea that was fun!!!

Playing by the river, so much fun. The boats come by and make waves for the kids, I think this is one of the big highlights for them!

Another great trip with some great friends!

Livin Life on Lummi

It was off to Lummi for a few relaxing days the beginning of August. We had a few things on the agenda....visit Bryce who was home from Iraq for a few weeks, visit my cousins from Arkansas who were out for a family vacation, go to another cousins wedding, play on the beach and of course hunt for beach glass!!! We did accomplish all of the above!!!

Little Isis Moon....she is such a doll. We all had a lot of fun spending time with her!

Grandpa!!! He is usually the photographer and I think this was the only picture we got of him on this trip...thanks to Lucy who really enjoys taking off with the camera!

My sweetie!!! I think he loves going to Lummi more than I do.....well almost.

Grandma and her grands! She is in heaven!!!

They think she is a jungle gym...she doesn't mind.....notice who is about to take a big drink of the Pacific Ocean....she is a water baby for sure!

I am for sure a beach LOVER!!!

Getting the Kayaks ready, what a perfect day for it too!

Caymus got the hang of it right away!

So did Lucy.....I didn't think we were going to be able to get them out of the water!

She is as sweet as she looks.....

My Moose. What a big boy he is getting to be!

Awww what a beauty!

Lucy had a great time pushing Isis around, Isis loved it too!!!

Lucy and Caymus all dressed up for cousin Lance's wedding.

Bob and I......lookin good!!!

Got to see Bryce!!! YAY!!!

And this is us in action.....we came home with a total combined weight of 10.2lbs in beach glass....I had 5lbs, Bob had 5.2lbs.....he finally beat me!!!

The kids made "houses" on the beach and entertained them selves for houses!

Hot tub time!!! Kids played in the tub (it had 90 deg water in it) for hours upon hours and hours!!!

And a little snuggle time on the couch! So sweet!

So a great trip it was and of course we cant wait to go back!!!
