Happy Spring

So far spring has been a little confusing....After all it has snowed here 4 times in the month of march....that's about 3 more times than all of winter!!!

We have just been plugging away cranking out the last few days before spring break....which starts officially today!!!
We had no school Monday for a teacher work day, 2 hour delay Wednesday due to snow, and no school Thursday due to lots of snow!! And the kids were already planning on missing Friday (today) because they are on the road to Palm Dessert! Lucky little buggers!!!

It was family time Monday and that meant dinner and some crazy hide and go seek at Bob's house. The kids got into Bob's closet and this is what they ended up in!!! ;-)
When at Bob's......We dress like Beavers!!!

After School on Tuesday I took the kids to the pottery shop. We needed to pick up Lucy and my art from our girl date so it was a good excuse to have another impromptu date with the kids!!!

They love painting pottery. And its a fun, creative way to spend some time together.

Lucy painted a Poodle. Super cute!
Caymus painted a Blackberry cell phone. Hey, its a lot cheaper than a real phone!

So much fun!!!
And this is the snow we woke up to on Thursday. 4+ inches at my house and at least 10+ up the hill! Crazy, its MARCH 22nd!!!!
Well the kids sure did have fun in it ALL DAY LONG!! The cool part of living in a neighborhood is there are lots of other kids to play with, and they sure did!

SNOW!!
So since the kids are off to sunny weather, Bob and I are heading to the beach for a little family time and escape!!! Seaside and Lummi bound!

Giddy Up

This weekend was our annual school carnival. The PTC puts it on and it is a big fundraiser for us. Not to mention an amazing amount of work! There are just the 3 of us ladies on the board and that means just the 3 of that did it all......
I do have to say I am VERY happy to have it in our past now.....

The theme this year was Giddy UP Aumsville! And as usual we had a lot of fun with it!!!

On Friday afternoon we were all at the school setting up and decided to run around on stick ponies and get the kids all excited for the carnival. We galloped up and down the bus line. Then giddy up'd through all the parents there to pick up their kids. Yes, we totally embarrassed ourselves. Yes, it was a blast!!! And YES we were noticed!!!!

Jill, Brenda and Myself. YEee haw! Giddy UP, The carnival is coming!!!

We had a very long day Saturday setting up. Jill headed up the games, Brenda ran the silent auction and I ran the kitchen.
Around 5 all our volunteers started showing up and it was time to rock and roll!!!

On a rough estimate, it looks like we blew the past carnivals out of the water!!!

Lucy, Caymus and Sage (Brenda's Son) - Looking good!!!

My cowgirl!!!

Moose!!!!
I did not do anything on Sunday trying to recover....it was not long enough and I am draggin booty today!!!

Boys vs Girls

We had a boys vs girls date day Saturday. Both kids have been needing some one on one time, or time apart. And both have been wanting to do different things. So we made that happen!

Bob and Caymus headed south to Corvallis to a BMX track Caymus had looked up on the internet. It had just the right amount and right sized jumps for him to practice on. They had a lot of fun and got very, very muddy.
Moose getting ready to tackle the track!

Showing off his muddy face!!! Tio Reid this one is for you!

Lucy and I headed downtown to a pottery studio to paint! This has always been one of our favorite activities!! After painting, we had lunch and went shopping. So girly!!!

My girl painting away!

Trying on hats at Target....she really really liked this one!! Looks super cute on her too!

Haircuts were in order on Monday....Caymus looked like he had a hairy chest. So he posed in his "hot" guy face! LOL what a goof!

Our school carnival is coming up on Saturday. Giddy Up Aumsville. Since I am on the PTC board, and we are putting on the carnival...I am heavily involved right now!!! We had a school assembly on Friday and we were talking up the carnival....I got a little dressed up.... :-)

Snowday Craftyness

Since we were snowed in on Thursday (3 inches that melted by noon). I decided what better to do with our time then CRAFT!!! Oh yes, we love to craft!

Here is an apron that I made for a custom order. Turned out pretty cute. I did not make it on Thursday, but found the pic on my camera and thought what the heck, I'll blog it!

Pink sparkly skulls!

I had bought some canvas on one of my craft store outings just for a day like this! The kids really enjoy painting and it makes for great art for their rooms.

Caymus decided to paint some long neck dinos. He did the one on the left first. Really cute job!  Little did I know he actually made them to match up and go together! So creative!!!

Caymus' art work.

Lucy had bought her canvas from the school store. It came with a little easel to set it up for display. She used it to hold her canvas while she painted and is now saving it for future painting. Its hard to tell from the picture, but this canvas is about 5"x7" and now hanging on her bedroom wall. She is really into quotes (as am I). And has been finding them and pinning them to my Pintrest wall.

Lucy's creative quote.
I had mentioned in my last post about Moms Craft Night Out. I will explain further now...My friend and co-PTC mom and I put together a craft night for moms as a fundraiser for our school (we need paper and ink and the school has put in a freeze on all purchases). So we made soup, salad, bread sticks and dessert, set up tables, provided child care and a crafting we went! 5 hours of un-interupted crafting time. And others to share with! Most of the ladies are scrapbookers (I borrowed their tools!), one worked on some really cool clay sculpture, one painted, one worked on her lesson plans, and I made cards. I don't scrapbook, I know that if I started I would want to start at the beginning of the kids lives and well, that was a long time ago now and I would never be caught up. So prior to the craft night I gathered my supplies, bought some paper and stamps, and a tote to carry it all in. I ended up using some paper punches and stocked up quite a bit. Then I produced 24 cards! I impressed my self!!

I wanted a signature stamp, or some way of marking them showing that they were home made, so I made myself a "M" stamp from a cork.

Here is a sample of my work.

And here is what I made on our snow day! I saw this quote and loved it! So now I have a custom canvas with a quote I love hanging on my living room wall!

Happy Crafting!!!

On a roll!

Well February just flew by like crazy. Hard to believe actually.

We did lots of stuff....I think....
Valentines day, my birthday, break from wrestling, school carnival work parties every week, Moms Craft Night Out, school, work.....

Last weekend Bob went crabbing with some friends and came home with crab! It was DELICIOUS!!!

The boys cooking up the crab!

Hmmmmm so good!

March 1st and we get a snow day. Super! It is pretty, I'll give it that.

4 inches of snow in the front yard.

This week is read across America, Dr Seuss' birthday. So every day this week was a different dress up day. Monday was crazy feet, Tuesday was PJ day, Wednesday was Whacky dress and hair, Thursday Dress your best (picture day) - and now a snow day -  Friday dress like Dr Seuss....

Caymus is Whacky!!!
So now to entertain 2 kids....and try to work....YAY!!! Happy Thursday!
